I just took the braids out of my hair. I have a Lye relaxer. When your hair is in good condition and you have it flat ironed before you apply your extensions, your hair takes on this look when you take out your extensions. My hair is strong but still not strong enough for a relaxer so soon. You'll have to wait before you have a relaxer applied or your hair WILL break off. Wait until your hair is in good condition.

Take the strand test and also ask your hair stylist if your hair is in good enough condition.

When you do have a relaxer applied. Apply only to the new growth. Ask your beautician to apply only to the new growth.

A better choice would be to grow your hair natural, then have a professional apply the relaxer after you have reached your hair goal

Make sure you have been using the Crown & Glory Technique all the time you are on your growing journey to make sure your hair is in good condition.

I apply a relaxer only 2 times a year. If you can't wait 2 times a year, then apply the relaxer once a month to new growth, or apply every 2-3 months. Depending on how good of condition your hair is, you'll come to a conclusion on how long you can stretch your perm.
