8 inches long

November 21, 2004

I began using the techniques in June of 2004. Unfortunately I do not have any pictures of my hair then. From this time I had been braiding my hair off and on. I use individual cornrows and individuals. I noticed that my hair was becoming very strong and very healthy.

My hair was perhaps only an inch past my shoulders when I began.

This is after a trim.

9.5 inches long

3a 3b type. Have been using almost all the Crown and Glory Techniques, and I am having success with growing my hair. I flat iron my hair or just wear a pony tail when I am out of braids. I am experiencing little to no breakage in my hair. My first hair goal is to my bra strap. I have just trimmed my hair in this photo. My hair grows, but I was having a problem with keeping it even b/c I was not protecting my hair from the heat of flat ironing.

I am resting my hair using braids. I keep my hair very conditioned, and rarely use heat. As you can see my hair has gotten thicker and longer.

My hair was perhaps only an inch past my shoulder - as it had been for a long while.  It's interesting, because I have always worn braids and natural styles.  The keys were treating my hair as delicate, using better products, keeping it conditioned while it was braided.  My hair would grow while it was braided, but it would become very dry, and I would have split ends.  So, I was constantly trimming my growth to achieve healthy hair - in turn cutting off any new growth.  It was a horrible cycle.  I would see my hair grow, but I could not get it longer because I had to always trim it.  When I saw your web site, I saw how long and beautiful your hair was and that your advice was free.  How could I not try your suggestions.  I hardly have split ends...no breaking hairs, and just as you've said, my hair is really healthy.  It is now very strong and shiny.  I really appreciate your sharing what you know with other women.
