Shampoo Regimen The Crown & Glory Technique™ Shampooing Natural Afro Textured Hair (Option 1) Have your hair in large braids to shampoo your hair. In the shower, pour streams of diluted shampoo and warm water over your large braids. In a large cup, squeeze to shampoo and rinse and rinse by squeezing. While the braids are still in, add Le kairs's Cholesterol Plus to your hair. This will make your hair easier to untangle and comb through. Take one braid down at a time and gently comb through with a wide toothed comb, using The Crown & Glory Technique and then rinse by squeezing your hair as you pour the water. Squeezing will help with the rinse. Braid the section back up. Repeat with all of your braid sections. After you have done all sections, your hair should still remain in the big loose braids. Take each section down to add hair strengthener and oil. Oil will give it more moisture after it air dries. Air dry your hair to keep in moisture.Option 2#: Afro Detangler will untangle, condition, and strengthen your hair without any other product. Use on wet or dry Afro Textured hair. Option 3#: If you do not have access to these products mention on the site, use the shampoo and conditioners that you have and shampoo & condition your hair using the techniques on this page. You should still see progress.
Shampooing Braids & Braid Extensions Pour streams of diluted shampoo and warm water from a large cup over your braid extensions or braids. Squeeze with a sponge to shampoo and rinse. Towels squeeze; after your hair has stopped dripping, add your liquid hair strengthener and your braids spray all over the scalp and hair. Only add the strengthener and braid spray to the scalp each time you shampoo. This prevents build up so your braid will be easy to take down when its time. You can add these 2 products daily to your actual braids. To saturate your braids thoroughly, use a sponge full of liquid hair strengthener and braid spray over a bowl. Squeeze the sponge throughout your braids. NOTE: Your braids will stay in the best condition if you shampoo this way and add these 2 products daily. When you take out your braid extensions, your hair will be in very good condition instead of dry and weak.Do not put braid extensions back in until you have read this link---Demarcation.
Shampooing Twists Pour streams of diluted shampoo and warm water over your twists from a large cup. Squeeze with a sponge to shampoo and rinse. Add liquid hair strengthener and braid spray by spraying from the bottles or applying the 2 products with a sponge by absorbing through a sponge. Do this over a bowl.
Shampooing Relaxed, Wavy & Straight Hair Hair that is 1-5 inches. Avoid shampoo your hair the traditional way. If your hair is 1-5 inches simply shampoo and condition. Avoid manipulating your hair all over your head. This will cause uneccsary breakage. Hair that is 5 inches or longer. Have your hair already combed out in big sections-in large loose braids. Keep these braids in your hair. Since your hair is 5 inches or longer, to prevent excessive breakage and to make your shampoo and comb out easier, run water from the shower over your large loose braids. Pour at least two caps full of the shampoo into a large cup (I Use Creme of nature detangling shampoo because it does not strip afro textured hair) Add water until it's half a cup full. Swish around, and pour over your braids. Squeeze your hair to lather. Rinse your hair from the shower and repeat-then Squeeze the excess water out with a towel. Avoid manipulating your loose braids all over your head. (this will cause breakage) just squeeze it with your towel. Deep conditioning hair that is 5 inches long or longer Take one braid down and add conditioner (Since you should deep condition, the Lekair Cholesterol Plus is inexpensive and works wonders) Apply the conditioner to the section but don't comb out, After you applied, loosely re-braid the same section. Do the remainder braids in the same manner. Squeeze out the excess water. Now place a plastic cap over your head. Dry off. Do one of the 2, 1. Wrap a large towel around your plastic cap for 60 minutes or 2. With your plastic cap on, sit under a dome/hooded dryer, heating cap or hair steamer for the same amount of time. Rinse out conditioner while the loose braids are still in your hair. Take down one section at a time and add strengthener and your favorite oils. Air dry, style.
